The Fetch.ai community is invited to cast their vote on Proposal 33, a pivotal software upgrade that will complete the token merger of CUDOS into the Fetch.ai (ASI) mainnet and the Artificial Superintelligence (ASI) Alliance. This proposal builds upon the groundwork laid by Proposal 31 and focuses on executing the technical migration to finalize the token merger. The outcome of this vote will solidify the union of two powerful ecosystems, bringing enhanced computational resources to the ASI Alliance and driving future growth in decentralized AI development.
Proposal 31, submitted on the 19th of September, 2024, marked the beginning of an important strategic initiative for the ASI Alliance. It outlined a clear plan for the token merge between CUDOS, a decentralized cloud computing platform, and the ASI ecosystem. Proposal 33 builds on top of Proposal 31 by following through and implementing the network upgrade required to finalize the network merger. Moreover, Proposal 33 carries within itself additional improvements for the ASI Ecosystem and in particular to those actively using the Fetch.ai mainnet, such as a general improvement to the reconciliation process.
The core elements of Proposal 31 were:
Proposal 33 now focuses on the critical software upgrade that will finalize the CUDOS integration into the Fetch.ai mainnet. This upgrade is essential to complete the network merger and to bring the technical and operational improvements promised by Proposal 31 to life.
Completion of the CUDOS network merge: The primary objective is to fully merge the CUDOS mainnet into the Fetch.ai (ASI) mainnet, reinforcing the union and ensuring that all stakeholders benefit from the expanded computational resources. All existing balances, delegations and rewards on the CUDOS mainnet will be migrated to the Fetch.ai (ASI) mainnet in accordance with the predefined ratio of: CUDOS 118.344:1 FET(ASI).
Reconciliation: Upgraded reconciliation allows immediate withdrawal of funds for all affected users.
During the stake migration from ETH to the Fetch Mainnet on September 14th, 2021, staked funds were all migrated from the Ethereum staking contract to the Fetch.ai Mainnet. In this process, some users decided to wait for reconciliation to access their funds after the auto-migration was complete. Past versions of the reconciliation service necessitated that reconciliation can only be done in between network upgrades. The improved version of the reconciliation services negates this necessity providing for a much more practical process.
Maintenance and stability improvements: Optimization of contract storage. For a full technical guide for validators, please head over to our GitHub here.
The integration of CUDOS into the Fetch.ai (ASI) mainnet brings a multitude of advantages to the broader ecosystem. Some of the key benefits include:
Expanded computational power: CUDOS’s decentralized cloud compute capabilities provide Fetch.ai with a scalable, cost-effective infrastructure to support the growing computational demands of AI and AGI applications.
Enhanced utility for the FET(ASI) token: The merger extends the utility of the FET (ASI) token by enabling token holders to participate in the supply and demand for decentralized computing resources, unlocking new opportunities for token utility within the ecosystem.
Broader ecosystem synergies: This integration aligns seamlessly with the ASI Alliance’s mission to decentralize AI and AGI development, making high-performance computing accessible to a global community of developers, researchers, and innovators.
The success of Proposal 33 is critical to realizing the full potential of the CUDOS integration. By voting in favor of this proposal, you are endorsing the completion of a transformative merger that will enhance the ASI Alliance's technological infrastructure and broaden its computational capabilities. Validators play a crucial role in this process and must ensure that their nodes are upgraded at the designated block height to prevent desynchronization. The network upgrade will require prompt action, and your participation is vital in ensuring a smooth transition.
Proposal 33 represents the final step in a strategic process that began with Proposal 31. The integration of CUDOS into the Fetch.ai (ASI) mainnet is a groundbreaking development that will enhance the Fetch.ai ecosystem's computational capabilities, support the decentralized AI vision of the ASI Alliance, and position the Alliance as a leader in AI innovation. We encourage all community members to thoroughly review the details of this proposal and exercise their right to vote. By casting your vote, you contribute to shaping the future of Fetch.ai, ensuring that the network remains at the forefront of decentralized AI development.
